Job Description

The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for performing audits as required by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 121.373. The Auditor performs reviews and audits Internal Programs and external business partners’ facilities as well as their policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal and external audits for the following: Line Station, Fuel Farm, Fuel Into-Plane, Essential Maintenance (Operations Spec D91), Repair Station
  • Make recommendations for Approved Vendor list addition/deletion based on audit assessment
  • Perform investigations of incidents and events which involve our external business partners or the products, goods and services for which they provide JetBlue
  • Maintain records of all audits in accordance with General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System Manual (CASS) policies/procedures
  • As part of our JetBlue Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS), perform analysis of audit findings or reliability reports for trends that involve the services or JetBlue’s business partners
  • Perform evaluation of audit responses and provide compliance recommendations as required
  • Provide technical and compliance/regulatory assistance to other departments in support of day-to-day operation
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Three (3) years of commercial aircraft Maintenance, Quality Control, Quality Assurance or applicable Military experience
  • Four (4) years’ experience in a 14 CFR Part 121 Air Carrier Quality or Maintenance environment (military experience can be used in lieu of 121 experience)
  • Thorough working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Possess and maintain a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (50%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous auditing experience in the 121 Air Carrier or Military Department of Defense (DOD) auditing environment

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Responsible for ensuring crewmembers have requisite training, resources and support to achieve safety objectives
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Physical Effort:

  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. (Medium)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $62,000.00 and $101,000.00. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
