Job Description

Auditor II Food Production (multiple openings)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and optimize food products, processes, and formulations to achieve organizational and regulatory objectives.

  • Contribute as an integral team member in research, product development, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Identify and evaluate food safety, quality, and production challenges, as well as opportunities for product or process innovation.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources, including laboratory tests, production records, and sensory evaluations, to draw scientifically informed conclusions.

  • Apply established scientific methodologies and industry best practices to guide problem-solving, decision-making, and process optimization.

  • Design, implement, and monitor experiments and studies to evaluate ingredients, formulations, or processing techniques and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

  • Develop innovative approaches to improve product quality, shelf life, nutritional value, and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Explore and apply novel strategies for addressing technical challenges and enhancing product performance or consumer experience.

  • Maintain expertise in food science principles, industry regulations, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements relevant to product development and quality assurance.

  • Establish and uphold high standards of accuracy, reliability, and safety in laboratory work, pilot-scale trials, and production assessments.

  • Take ownership of assignments and research projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements

Location: 789 N. Dixboro Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. Remote position, work can be performed anywhere in the U.S.; Domestic travel throughout the US required up to 50% of the time for various on-site client audits

  • Bachelor - Biological Science, Food Engineering, or a related technical field of study. Will accept foreign equivalent.
  • Five (5) years in the position above, as a Food Safety Office or in a related food/packaging role.

Experience must include:

  • Performing regulatory inspections according to consumer product
  • Initiative recognized schemes including BRCGS FOOD, IFS FOOD AND LOGISTICS, FSSC 22000; and
  • Performing onsite audits
