Description

The Kentucky Judicial Branch offers exciting career opportunities with the Administrative Office of the Courts
in Frankfort and the state courts that operate in all 120 counties.

The Department of OFFICE OF AUDITS has an immediate opening for an AUDITOR. This position is based in the
central or northeast area of the state, and will serve Statewide (Varies).

Examples of duties or responsibilities of this classification:
  • Applies professional auditing standards, methods, and procedures to identify, analyze and make recommendations
    concerning the accuracy of accounting systems.
  • Examines and tests ledgers, journals, and other books of original entry for compliance with federal and/or
    state policies and regulations.
  • Prepares work papers and accumulates documenting evidence in support of audit adjustments, recommendations,
    and reports.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions to develop and improve audit skills; and to develop and improve audit
    skills; and to develop a working knowledge of federal and state policies and regulations governing the
    programs, reports, and statements to be audited.
  • Review legislation.
  • Recommend changes in accounting manual.
  • Conduct financial record and procedural audits of the Circuit Clerk, MC, DRC, and COJ facilities.
  • Assist and participate in internal investigations.
  • Conduct presentation and educational training in group settings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in related field

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
1 year accounting experience

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Assoc./ 3 years job related experience or high school diploma/ 5 years job related experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
This position requires cell phone use, and the incumbent is subject to reimbursement based on the KCOJ.

Working Conditions

Primarily works within an office setting.
Must be able to travel statewide.
