This role leads the delivery of assurance services and business advisory support for clients in the Asset Wealth Management (AWM) sector, ranging from small, fast-growing firms to large, complex entities. You will manage external audit engagements, apply deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS, and PCAOB standards, and guide teams in providing high-quality, insight-driven audit outcomes. The position is fully remote, supporting clients based in the United States, with a particular focus on AWM audit engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage external audit engagements for clients in the Asset Wealth Management (AWM) industry, ensuring high-quality delivery in line with U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS, and PCAOB standards.
• Provide assurance services and business advice to a diverse portfolio of AWM clients, including small, fast-growing organizations and large, established entities.
• Oversee planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements, including risk assessment, testing, documentation, and reporting.
• Serve as a team leader within an assurance practice, guiding and supporting team members to deliver accurate, timely, and value-added audit work.
• Actively pursue opportunities to develop new skills and expand capabilities beyond your comfort zone, modeling continuous learning for the team.
• Maintain positive energy and composure when facing obstacles, complexity, or change, and act decisively to resolve issues that hinder effective team collaboration.

• Work with large, complex data sets to build analytical models and use data visualization tools to generate meaningful insights for clients.
• Utilize automation and digitization tools to streamline audit processes, reduce hours, and optimize engagement delivery.
• Encourage the adoption of digital solutions within the team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in audit methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant professional standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements across engagements.
• Mentor and coach junior team members, providing feedback and guidance to support their professional growth and performance.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver coordinated, high-quality client service in a remote environment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in external auditing, with significant experience in the Asset Wealth Management (AWM) industry.
• At least 3 years of external auditing experience specifically in Asset Wealth Management (AWM).
• Heavy external audit experience in the Asset Wealth Management (AWM) sector, including complex engagements and varied client profiles.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting.
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP).
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (U.S. GAAS).
• Thorough knowledge of Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards.
• Extensive understanding of business and accounting issues relevant to the AWM industry, including technical accounting and financial reporting standards.
• Proven experience serving as a team leader and team member within an assurance practice in a professional services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain positive energy and resilience when dealing with obstacles, complexity, and change.
• Strong skills in managing diverse viewpoints, building consensus, and creating positive outcomes for multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage client expectations, seek feedback, and act on that feedback to improve service.
• Experience incorporating up-to-date technologies and technology developments into professional work.
• Experience working with large, complex data sets to build models and generate insights.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools to communicate findings and insights to clients.
• Experience utilizing digitization tools to improve efficiency, reduce hours, and optimize engagements.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to respond confidently and thoughtfully when challenged.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred, particularly within an assurance or audit practice.
• Experience within a global or large professional services network is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated interest in automation and digitization in a professional services environment.
• Proven ability to identify and promote new ideas, services, and solutions that create value for clients.
• Comfort working in a fully remote setting while collaborating effectively with distributed teams and clients.
• Strong client relationship management skills, including account planning and strategic thinking.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including staying current with industry and societal trends.
• Ability to mentor and coach junior professionals, supporting their technical and professional growth.

Work Environment

This role operates in a 100% remote work environment within the United States, supporting clients primarily based in locations such as Atlanta, Georgia. You will collaborate virtually with colleagues and clients across a professional services assurance practice. The work relies heavily on modern technologies, including automation, digitization tools, and data visualization platforms, as well as the use of large, complex data sets to support audit and assurance activities. Engagements typically follow structured audit cycles, with periods of higher intensity around key reporting deadlines, requiring strong time management and coordination in a remote setting. The environment emphasizes professional conduct, clear communication, and adherence to high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $89.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
