BDO Ireland is seeking a dynamic and experienced Qualified Senior to join our Audit Department. As a key contributor to our ongoing business transformation, you will play a pivotal role in driving our ambitious growth strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all stages of audits, from planning to completion, across a diverse portfolio of clients in the Retail, Education, and Non-Profit sectors. You will supervise audit teams of up to three members, coordinate assignments, and act as the primary client contact during onsite fieldwork, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations. Strong leadership, communication skills, and audit experience are essential, as is the ability to adapt to the unique requirements of each sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of external audits, ensuring high-quality delivery across a diverse client portfolio—including Retail, Education, and Non-Profit sectors.
• Oversee and coordinate audit teams of up to three members on various assignments.
• Provide guidance, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Act as the primary point of contact during onsite audit fieldwork. Maintain professional communication with clients, effectively managing expectations and addressing queries as they arise.
• Effective communication with management and partner on progress and status of various audits will be a key requirement
• Work across a wide range of audit assignments, often contributing to multiple teams simultaneously. Adapt quickly to varying client environments and sector-specific requirements
• Time management, work in progress management, delegation, use of initiative, excellent communication and assertiveness are skills required for this level
• Responsible for adhering to budgets and ensuring deadlines are consistently met, maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction throughout each engagement

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• 3 – 4 years working in Audit
• Strong technical knowledge
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and client service ethos
• Adaptable to change
• Proficient on MS office (essential) and CaseWare (preferable)
• Good leadership and delegation skills
• Knowledge of APT (advantageous)
