What you’ll do:

• Lead the strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple external audit engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
• Manage, mentor, and inspire audit teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the audit lifecycle.
• Develop and deepen trusted client relationships by gaining a comprehensive understanding of their business operations, risks, and audit requirements.
• Oversee and enhance the identification and assessment of financial and control risks, crafting robust and tailored audit strategies.
• Provide expert advice on financial reporting issues and stay abreast of emerging regulatory changes to guide both clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to address complex audit challenges and deliver value-added recommendations.
• Champion initiatives to optimize audit methodologies, tools, and processes, driving innovation and efficiency within the team.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven Experience: Minimum 7+ years in external audit, preferably with significant exposure to CIPS or related sectors, holding a recognised CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent qualification.
• Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading audit teams, managing multiple high-profile engagements, and delivering exceptional quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
• Client-Focused: Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence senior client leadership.
• Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements pertinent to CIPS.
• Analytical Acumen: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex financial and operational issues, exercise sound professional judgment, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, adept at conveying complex audit findings and insights clearly to diverse audiences, including senior management and board members.
• Innovator: A proactive mindset towards process improvement and embracing emerging technologies and methodologies in audit.
