Department Overview
Our Audit & Assurance practice continues to experience significant growth, and we are now looking to expand our Banking Audit team. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of banking and financial services clients, including retail and commercial banks, credit institutions, and regulated entities. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with clients across local markets as well as major international financial centres.
We are seeking passionate, driven individuals who are self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing the planning, execution, and delivery of audit engagements across a diverse banking client base.
Role Purpose
As an Audit Senior in Banking, you will lead and deliver high-quality audits for banking and financial institutions, ensuring compliance with Irish GAAP/IFRS and auditing standards. You will supervise junior team members, act as a key client contact, and contribute to continuous improvement across our audit methodology and tools.
Main Responsibilities
Assist in planning and executing banking audit engagements, including risk assessment, audit programme development, and fieldwork.
Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with professional standards and firm policies.
Supervise junior audit staff, providing direction, support, and guidance throughout the audit process.
Review work completed by team members for accuracy and completeness and provide constructive feedback.
Act as a point of contact for banking clients during audit engagements, addressing their inquiries and providing updates on audit progress.
Ensure audit documentation and reports meet firm standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in training programmes to enhance technical skills and knowledge of banking regulations and auditing standards.
Support the development and mentoring of junior team members through on-the-job training and coaching.
Skills and Attributes
Minimum 3 years’ experience in external audit, ideally with banking exposure.
Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA or similar qualification).
Strong technical skills (Irish GAAP, Auditing standards, IFRS).
Knowledge of banking regulations and risk frameworks is an advantage.
Experience working with a diverse portfolio of banking clients.
Capable of working on your own initiative.
Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
Strong attention to detail and analytical assessment.
