Job Description

INTRODUCTION

At Burberry, we believe creativity opens spaces. Our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities. This is the core belief that has guided Burberry since it was founded in 1856 and is central to how we operate as a company today.

We aim to provide an environment for creative minds from different backgrounds to thrive, bringing a wide range of skills and experiences to everything we do. As a purposeful, values-driven brand, we are committed to being a force for good in the world as well, creating the next generation of sustainable luxury for customers, driving industry change and championing our communities.

JOB PURPOSE

We are hiring an Internal Audit Manager to join our Global Audit Team in London. This role strengthens Burberry’s governance by providing clear, independent assurance across every area of our business. You will help shape how we manage risk, protect our brand, and support confident decision‑making. It is an opportunity to work with purpose, craft, and rigour in a team that partners closely with leaders across the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess business objectives, risks, and controls to deliver insightful, well‑evidenced audit work across global operations.

  • Design and carry out testing to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and document results to a high professional standard.

  • Prepare clear audit reports, highlighting findings and recommendations, and ensure progress and insights are shared with stakeholders.

  • Engage with steering groups and senior partners to stay close to emerging risks and business developments.

  • Follow up on actions and collaborate with teams to support timely remediation and a “no surprises” audit experience.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Professional audit or accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA, IIA).

  • Experience delivering risk‑based audits across operational or financial processes, ideally within complex organisations.

  • Strong analytical judgement, written clarity, and an ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.

  • Comfortable working with changing priorities and able to manage multiple reviews with care and precision.

  • Knowledge of business processes, risk principles and IT general controls; experience with SAP or retail environments is beneficial.

Burberry is an Equal Opportunities Employer and as such, treats all applications equally and recruits purely on the basis of skills and experience.

About Burberry

Born from innovation, Burberry is a global luxury brand with a rich British heritage.

Founded in 1856, our brand is underpinned by our founder’s passion for the outdoors. Thomas Burberry invented the innovative rain-ready fabric gabardine to protect explorers from the elements. In doing so, he created the foundation for the iconic Burberry trench coat, which remains core to the business even today.

Guided by our history of exploration and our shared belief that ‘creativity opens spaces’, our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities.

As a values-driven brand, we are committed to creating the next generation of sustainable luxury and believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to fulfilling our purpose. Fostering an inclusive culture where differences are valued and embraced enables us to be more creative, engaged and make a more meaningful contribution to the world around us.
