CharteredPartners is seeking an Audit & Assurance Partner to lead and grow a practice in Hong Kong. This is a senior leadership appointment carrying responsibility for engagement sign-off as a registered Public Interest Entity auditor, origination of new mandates, and the profit-and-loss performance of the audit portfolio. The successful candidate will set technical direction, shape quality and risk culture, and represent the firm before clients, audit committees and regulators across the territory. Key Responsibilities:

• Hold ultimate engagement responsibility as the signing partner, including final review and sign-off of audit opinions on listed and privately held entities under Hong Kong Standards on Auditing.
• Carry and grow a personal portfolio, owning the profit-and-loss performance, pricing, recovery and profitability of the audit book.
• Originate new mandates through your network, referral relationships and market presence, converting opportunities into recurring assurance engagements.
• Maintain registration and standing with the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council, including Public Interest Entity auditor obligations and inspection readiness.
• Set and enforce quality and risk standards across the practice, chairing technical consultations on complex HKFRS and HKAS judgements.
• Lead, mentor and develop directors, senior managers and qualified staff, building succession and capability across the team.
• Engage audit committees, boards and HKEX-listed clients on governance, financial reporting and regulatory matters.
• Oversee compliance with the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622), HKEX Listing Rules and SFC expectations across the portfolio.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Membership of the HKICPA, with a Practising Certificate and standing as a Responsible Person eligible to sign audit opinions.
• Registration, or clear eligibility for registration, as a Public Interest Entity auditor with the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council.
• Deep command of HKFRS, HKAS and Hong Kong Standards on Auditing, including complex consolidation, financial instruments and revenue judgements.
• Substantial experience signing or leading audits of HKEX-listed and PIE clients.
• Thorough working knowledge of the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622), HKEX Listing Rules and the SFC regulatory environment.
• Demonstrable origination record, with the ability to build and convert a pipeline of assurance mandates.
• Strong commercial judgement across pricing, engagement economics and portfolio profitability.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary audit teams in a practice or Big Four environment.
• Fluency in English; Cantonese and Mandarin are a significant advantage for client and regulator engagement.
• Unimpeachable professional ethics and independence, with a clean regulatory and inspection history.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior partner or director tenure within a Big Four or established mid-tier firm in Hong Kong.
• Sector depth in financial services, real estate, or technology and media listings.
• Experience managing AFRC inspections and remediation of inspection findings.
• Familiarity with IRD audit and tax-interaction matters affecting assurance clients.
• A visible market profile, including speaking, writing or committee involvement within the profession.
• Track record of cross-border engagements spanning the Greater Bay Area and mainland China.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
