A TEKsystems client is seeking an experienced Lead AV Install Technician to oversee and perform the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of commercial audiovisual systems. This role serves as the on-site technical lead, responsible for directing installation crews, ensuring adherence to project specifications, maintaining quality standards, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in AV systems, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership - Lead and supervise AV installation technicians on job sites. - Coordinate daily installation activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope. - Review project drawings, engineering documentation, and scopes of work prior to installation. - Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance to team members. - Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions with project managers and stakeholders. System Installation - Install commercial audiovisual systems, including: - Audio systems - Video conferencing systems - Digital signage - Video distribution systems - Control systems - Projection systems - LED display systems - Network-connected AV devices - Install and terminate low-voltage cabling, including CAT6, fiber optic, speaker, control, and coaxial cabling. - Mount displays, projectors, cameras, speakers, racks, and related equipment. - Build, wire, and dress equipment racks in accordance with industry best practices. Testing & Commissioning - Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance checks. - Verify equipment functionality and system performance against design requirements. - Assist with system programming support and configuration as required. - Document installation completion, punch-list items, and quality-control inspections. - Support client demonstrations and user acceptance testing. Safety & Compliance - Promote and enforce job-site safety policies and procedures. - Conduct work in accordance with OSHA regulations and applicable building codes. - Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company vehicles. - Maintain clean, organized, and professional work environments. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate installation records, project documentation, and daily reports. - Redline drawings and report field changes to project management. - Assist with inventory management and material tracking. - Submit project documentation in a timely manner.
