Job Category: Information TechnologyThe Audio/Visual Technician I is a developing-level technical position responsible for assisting with the delivery, set-up, operation, maintenance, and support of audio/visual equipment and systems throughout Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Under general direction, this position performs routine audio/visual assignments, assists with meetings and events, troubleshoots equipment issues, and develops the technical knowledge and skills necessary to independently support audio/visual operations. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions

  1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  2. Assist in the delivery of audio/visual services to customers including set-up, testing, and operation of equipment.
  3. Assist in the installation of audio/visual racks, cabling, head end equipment, speakers, and all other audio/visual system equipment.
  4. Monitor and adjust television programming, music selections, and in-house programming in public and back-of-house areas.
  5. Assist in the transportation of equipment from meeting rooms and event locations to dedicated storage locations with respect to time constraints and inventory control.
  6. Assist outside performers and in-house promotions staff in the set-up, tear down, and testing of equipment and systems.
  7. Use established troubleshooting techniques to diagnose audio/visual equipment problems.
  8. Actively monitor the problem management database to ensure that all customer requests are handled in a timely and accurate fashion. Review and complete assignments given by the Audio/Visual Manager.
  9. Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and inventory of all audio/visual equipment.
  10. Maintain current professional and technical knowledge by completing departmental training requirements and participating in external training opportunities.
  11. Maintain understanding of Audio/Visual department goals and service expectations, and assist the Audio/Visual team in achieving department goals on a consistent basis.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

  1. Three (3) years audio/visual experience in a hotel and conference environment.
  2. Three (3) years of experience of commercial audio, video, and videoconferencing systems.
  3. Hands-on experience with general wiring, rack building, general and specific assembly, and electronic testing.
  4. High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  5. Working technical knowledge of systems and system operations and infrastructure.
  6. Professional customer service and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  7. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, user community, fellow Team Members, vendors, and the general public.
  8. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulatory requirements.
  9. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  10. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  11. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  12. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must be able to manage several different tasks at once.
  13. Must be capable of working effectively under pressure and time constraints.
  14. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  15. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements

  1. Requires normal or corrective vision, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, symbols, equipment indicators, and visual displays.
  2. Ability to lift, maneuver, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  3. Ability to stand or walk continuously for two (2) hours or more.
  4. Ability to use, carry, position, and transport job-related tools and audio/visual equipment.
  5. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate, connect, configure, install, and maintain job-related equipment.
  6. Ability to crouch, kneel, bend, push, turn, reach, carry, and pull while performing job duties.
  7. Ability to work in dimly lit conditions and in environments that may be noisy or contain secondhand smoke.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort is a AAA Four Diamond award-winning casino and resort in Lincoln, California, 30 miles (48 km) east of Sacramento. It is owned by the United Auburn Indian Community and opened in June 2003.

Thunder Valley was the first full Las Vegas-style casino in Northern California.
