Purpose

The AV Support Technician reports to the IT Director in the College of Pharmacy. They will provide technology support for classrooms and events across the College of Pharmacy, ensuring reliable A/V systems and positive user experience. Serve as backup for key A/V roles.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom & Conference Room Support: On-site, end-user support for classroom and conference room technology. Training and consultation for faculty/staff/students on A/V systems. Provide backup for the Video Control Room staff and Student Workers during absences or peak workload, ensuring continuity of classroom and event A/V support and troubleshooting. Create/update internal training videos and supplemental materials for classrooms

  • AV Support for other Major College Events: On-site support for major college events

  • Professional Development: Maintain and continuously develop expertise in classroom technology, including (but not limited to) lecture capture, video conferencing, audio DSP, and control systems

  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED and at least 2 year’s experience with AV and video conferencing

  • Proficiency in professional time management skills and ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences

  • Ability to handle the rigors of managing multiple, concurrent live meetings that requires a great degree of multi-tasking

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of audio-visual and video conference experience in a classroom setting

  • Experience with Zoom Meetings and its meeting management settings and how they affect a classroom space

  • General understanding of Crestron AV devices (e.g. AV switches, control panels)

  • Experience with Audio (microphones, Zoom audio considerations, etc.) in classrooms or similar spaces

  • Demonstrable experience with Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop

  • Experience managing, monitoring and scheduling Panopto recordings or other lecture capture systems

Salary Range

$48,000 + depending on qualifications
