Job Description

The Audio-Visual Coordinator (AVC) manages the installation, operation, maintenance, and implementation of all AV-related equipment. As a member of the Multi-Media and Communications Department, the AVC contributes to the production and distribution of various media projects and products. The AVC provides general oversight of cadets who perform AV-assigned details. AVC coordinates with the department's manager to ensure the smooth operation of various campus gatherings and events.

Responsibilities

Managing Audio-Visual Functions

• Monitor and manage all audio-visual requests through the Communication Request System.• Coordination of setup and teardown of audio-visual equipment.• Work with CFOT staff to schedule and conduct sound checks for events, meetings, and gatherings.• Ensures high-quality audio-visual operations for community events, gatherings, and meetings.• Troubleshoot technical problems as needed with audio-visual equipment.• Supervises and directs Audio Visual Technician.• Quality checks PowerPoints and visual slides before public viewing.• Reviews and quality checks program tech sheets.• Manage audio-visual inventory.• Recommend proposals to CFOT leadership for audio-visual equipment upgrades.• Coordinates the procurement and installation of audio-visual equipment.• Maintain equipment with appropriate repairs and software updates.• Manage and update the audio-visual folder in the CFOT's shared drive.• Assists the department manager in producing live-stream events.

Multi-Media Production

• Assist the department manager in producing multi-media products, including short and long-form videos, PowerPoint slides, and/or static images.• Assist the department manager in drafting storyboards, scripts, and tech sheets.• Provides coaching and support to onscreen talent, including officers, cadets, and employees.• Duplicate, reformat, or enhance media materials as needed.

Audio-Visual Teaching

• Provide coaching and support to officers, cadets, and staff involving aspects of multi-media, audio-visual, and/or performance deliverables.• Coordinate and teach the audio-visual class elective.• Train officers, staff, and volunteers in AV operations as needed.

Miscellaneous

• Collaborate with Cadet Detail team on projects, as needed.• Maintain all files and records in good order.• Attend and participate in department meetings.• Attend and participate in various CFOT committees.• Assist faculty in classroom AV as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Attention to detail.

Proficiency with soundboard and live-streaming.
