Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Services Supervisor to lead and deliver high-quality accounting and tax compliance services to a diverse client base. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can manage client engagements, supervise junior staff, and work closely with managers and partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any related field.
  • CPA / CA preferred or currently working towards.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Business Services within an Australian accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation law, and compliance requirements.

Skills & Systems

  • Proficient in MYOB AE, BGL, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based accounting software (Xero experience highly regarded).
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and capacity to manage multiple engagements.
  • Proven ability to supervise staff and work with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prepare business services engagements to review stage, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and taxation requirements.
  • Review work prepared by junior and intermediate staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns, and related compliance work for a range of entities.
  • Plan and manage workflows, budgets, and timelines, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Liaise directly with clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to add value.
  • Escalate complex technical matters appropriately and assist with advisory work when required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of workpapers, billing support, and internal reporting.
