A Virginia Beach plaintiff litigation practice is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to manage a plaintiff-side caseload involving negligence matters and provide strategic advocacy for injured clients.

The attorney will oversee litigation strategy, client relationships, settlement efforts, and courtroom representation while working alongside a collaborative team environment focused on transparency, professional growth, and client service.

Compensation

• Base salary: $150,000 – $175,000
• Additional bonus opportunity tied to production and performance metrics
• Commission eligibility available
• Relocation assistance may be available

Matters may include:

• Motor vehicle accidents
• Premises liability matters
• Medical malpractice claims
• Product liability matters
• Other negligence-based cases

Responsibilities

• Case Strategy & Litigation
• Assess liability and damages through evidence analysis and case evaluation
• Review medical records, reports, witness information, and investigative materials
• Develop litigation strategies and case plans
• Manage files through resolution
• Client Advocacy
• Maintain regular client communication
• Guide expectations throughout litigation and settlement processes
• Support clients during sensitive matters involving injury claims
• Courtroom & Litigation Responsibilities
• Draft complaints, pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery
• Attend depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials
• Argue motions and appear in court proceedings
• Settlement & Recovery
• Negotiate directly with insurance carriers
• Maximize recovery opportunities
• Support resolution efforts and settlement strategy

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD)
• Active Virginia Bar admission
• Litigation experience
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills

Preferred:

• Plaintiff-side personal injury background
• Trial experience / first-chair exposure
• Experience managing larger litigation caseloads
• Independent file handling experience from intake through resolution
• Settlement negotiation experience with carriers
• Candidates with Workers’ Compensation backgrounds and strong litigation experience may also be considered.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $175,000
