LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

Wheaton, Illinois | On-site | 3–5 Years of Experience

An immediate opportunity is available for a Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of experience to work with partners on complex commercial litigation matters in Wheaton, Illinois. The position is onsite and involves direct client interaction and substantive responsibility throughout the litigation process.

Responsibilities

• The attorney will work with partners and clients on complex commercial litigation matters, including drafting pleadings and agreements, propounding and responding to discovery, conducting legal research, drafting and arguing motions, interviewing witnesses, and taking and defending depositions.
• The role also includes court appearances, motion arguments, negotiations, mediations, settlements, trials, and arbitrations. The attorney will be expected to manage workflow independently, meet deadlines, exercise sound legal judgment, and provide responsive client service.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a licensed attorney
• Illinois bar admission required
• Admission to both Illinois state and federal courts required
• Commercial litigation experience
• Defense-side litigation experience preferred
• Experience working with corporate clients preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Sound legal judgment and strategic thinking
• Ability to independently manage workflow and meet deadlines
• Strong client service skills and prompt responsiveness

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary range is $120,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience. An incentive bonus structure is also provided based on fees collected and applicable overhead.
