Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with 3–8 years of insurance defense litigation experience to join the North Jersey team. The attorney will independently manage a litigation caseload while working closely with experienced litigators and firm leadership. Experience handling New Jersey automobile liability matters is strongly preferred.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution. - Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents. - Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances. - Participate in arbitrations and mediations, prepare matters for trial. - Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law. - Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and corporate clients. - Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; Active New Jersey law license; 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience; experience independently managing litigation matters; experience handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice; strong legal research/writing and oral advocacy skills.

Strong Plus: New Jersey automobile liability defense experience; experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities; arbitration/mediation/trial/courtroom experience; premises liability experience; existing relationships with insurance carriers or claims professionals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Flexible hybrid — new attorneys generally expected 2-3 days/week in the Jersey City office initially, loosely enforced.
