A boutique family law litigation firm focused on high-stakes divorce and custody matters is seeking a Senior Family Law Litigation Attorney for its Orange County practice.

This role is centered on courtroom advocacy and trial work involving complex financial issues, including business valuations and forensic accounting. Attorneys are expected to be confident in court, capable of leading litigation strategy, and comfortable managing sophisticated, high-net-worth cases.

The firm operates using a structured pod-style model where senior attorneys lead a dedicated team including associates, paralegals, and legal assistants. This structure allows attorneys to focus on litigation strategy, trial preparation, and client advocacy while supported by an integrated case team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full family law caseload from inception through resolution
• Serve as lead counsel in trials and contested evidentiary hearings
• Handle mediations and settlement conferences
• Develop a case strategy for complex financial and custody disputes
• Supervise and mentor associates, paralegals, and support staff
• Review discovery, pleadings, and work product prepared by team members
• Advise clients on legal strategy, risks, and outcomes
• Maintain court appearances and litigation schedule

Candidate Requirements:

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of family law litigation experience (8+ preferred)
• Demonstrated trial experience in family law matters
• Strong courtroom presence and confidence in litigation settings
• Experience with complex financial issues (business valuation, forensic accounting)
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Compensation:

• Base salary: $140,000 – $220,000 DOE
• Additional compensation for exceeding billable expectations
• Referral/origination bonus opportunities

Work Expectations:

• Hybrid role with in-office presence in Orange County
• Court appearances 2–3 times per week (Orange & Santa Ana)
• Approximately 1,750 billable hours annually
