Estate Planning Attorney / Senior Associate
An established Estate Planning Group in Wheaton, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney / Senior Associate with approximately 5–10+ years of estate planning and estate administration experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sophisticated estate planning, estate and trust administration, tax planning, and general business counseling, with high-net-worth client experience strongly preferred. This is a client-facing opportunity requiring strong drafting, analytical, organizational, financial, and relationship-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise high-net-worth clients on sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer strategies.
- Develop tax-efficient estate and gift tax planning strategies.
- Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents.
- Handle estate and trust administration matters from start to finish.
- Provide general business advice as part of broader client representation.
- Work directly with clients, families, fiduciaries, accountants, and other professional advisors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with estate planning referral sources.
- Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Conduct detailed legal and tax analysis and provide practical guidance to clients.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active Illinois bar admission, or ability to become licensed in Illinois.
- 5–10+ years of estate planning and estate administration experience.
- Sophisticated estate planning and tax planning experience.
- Experience with general business counseling.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong financial or accounting background preferred.
- Significant client and referral-source interaction experience.
- Professional, polished, and service-minded approach.
Compensation & Benefits
- The base salary is $150,000–$170,000+, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit. An incentive bonus structure is also available based on fees collected less the attorney's overhead.

Work Arrangement
- This is an on-site position in Wheaton, Illinois, with significant client contact and referral-source interaction. The role requires the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines while maintaining a high level of client service.
Salary Range: $150,000–$170,000
