The Attorney is responsible for providing legal support across Oxy Oman's oil and gas operations.
The Attorney responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and other documents.
Researching and drafting legal opinions, and providing support to senior attorneys on legal matters.
Advising internal business units and support functions on legal and regulatory matters.
Supporting joint venture and partner engagement, including attending meetings and reviewing related documentation.
Reviewing and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
Coordinating with external counsel on assigned legal matters.
Assisting with corporate governance tasks, including board resolutions and entity filings.
Conducting legal research on Omani law and regulatory developments relevant to company operations.
Bachelor's Degree in Law.
A minimum of 5 years of legal practice in a law firm, company, or government office, preferably with exposure to the energy or extractive industries.
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English, including the ability to draft and review legal documents in both languages. Strong sense of ethics, with the ability to build trust and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize work to meet shifting deadlines under pressure.
A team player able to work in a multi-discipline, multi-national and collaborative environment.
Familiarity with Omani laws and regulations, with working knowledge of common law principles being an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and legal research tools.
Strong analytical and research skills.
