Position Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of production equipment, which mayinclude:packaging equipment,case gluer, case tape machine, stretchwrapperand conveying equipment

  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s)in detail without deviation

  • Set-up packaging coders,validateproduct codesin accordance withcode specifications.

  • Inspectproductfor defects. Sort,identifyandremoveout-of-specificationproduct

  • Package product, either manually oroperatepackaging equipmentin accordance withcustomer orders and specifications.

  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.

  • Accuratelyand neatlycompleteproduction records anddocuments.

  • Assistwithequipmentsize and packagingchange-overs, CIP/SIP,clean-upand equipment set-up.

  • Perform product reclaim and rework operations.

  • Support internal audits.

  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.

  • Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.

  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.

  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics,actively apply the Saputo Company Valuesand Workplace Climate Policy

  • Work togetherin a team environmentwith co-workers, cross-trainand rotate positions frequently.

  • Other duties as required by management.

Job requirements

  • High schooldiploma or equivalent.

  • Previousexperience in food manufacturing,warehousing,dairy food manufacturing experience preferred

  • Goodmath skills.

  • Successful completion ofpre-employmentdrug screen and background check.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated work history

  • Good attendance isa must

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limitedto:noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.

  • Fine manipulation and dexterity,grippingand squeezing.

  • Visual acuity with the ability to see color.

  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protectiveequipmentand following approved chemical handling procedures.

  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs frequently throughout the shift.

  • Shift flexibility. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 24/7 operation to support manufacturingThis can either be rotating, days,swingor nightshiftsand weekends.Work daysand shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.
