Role Purpose

The Attendance Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and managing employee attendance, punctuality, call-offs, absences, and staffing coverage to support safe and efficient airport operations. This position serves as a key link between employees, supervisors, scheduling, and station leadership to ensure staffing levels meet operational requirements.

What you will be doing

  • Monitor daily employee attendance, tardiness, call-offs, no-shows, early departures, and other attendance-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance records in the company's scheduling, timekeeping, and/or HR systems.
  • Monitor staffing levels and identify potential coverage gaps before they affect airport operations.
  • Communicate daily staffing shortages and attendance concerns to Operations and Station Management.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to identify available employees for coverage when staffing shortages occur.
  • Respond to employee call-offs and document attendance-related communications in accordance with company procedures.
  • Review attendance patterns and identify recurring issues, trends, and potential operational risks.
  • Ensure attendance policies are applied consistently and fairly across employees and shifts.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers regarding attendance counseling, corrective action, and documentation.
  • Prepare attendance reports and provide leadership with information regarding absenteeism, tardiness, overtime, and staffing trends.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and attendance records.
  • Ensure attendance practices comply with company policies and applicable employment requirements.
  • Assist with workforce scheduling and staffing adjustments during periods of high passenger volume, irregular operations, weather events, or other operational disruptions.
  • Support new-hire attendance expectations during onboarding and initial employment periods.
  • Communicate attendance expectations clearly and professionally to employees.
  • Work closely with Operations, Human Resources, Scheduling, and other departments to resolve attendance-related concerns.
  • Escalate significant attendance or staffing issues to appropriate leadership in a timely manner.
  • Supporting last-minute coverage needs caused by employee call-offs or delays.
  • Assisting leadership during weather-related disruptions and irregular operations.
  • Coordinating staffing information between shifts.
  • Identifying positions where understaffing could affect service levels, safety, or contractual requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in attendance management, scheduling, workforce coordination, operations, human resources, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience as a supervisor or lead
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information appropriately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, late nights, and overtime.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in an airport, airline, aviation services, transportation, logistics, hospitality, or other 24/7 operational environment.
  • Experience using an HRIS, ATS, workforce management, scheduling, or timekeeping system.
  • Knowledge of attendance policies and employee documentation practices.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
