This position
The attendance clerk - student wellness center support staff person tracks daily period-by-period attendance of students and provides continued coverage of the student health center. She/he may also be called upon to perform light office and organizational work for Co-Curricular program directors as needed.
Responsibilities:
Attendance Support - including but not limited to:
- Track daily period-by-period attendance of students
- Receive, track, and make parent phone calls regarding student absences
- Receive and track parent notes regarding student absences
- Process and verify student absence information from teachers every period
- Maintain accurate daily attendance records for emergency purposes
- Manage the process for sign-in/sign-out records and issue tardy slips and passports for students arriving late or leaving campus early during the school day.
- Record all tardy/passport information in student attendance as directed
- Manage attendance during drills and emergencies and create emergency rosters
- Communicate as assigned with students, parents, faculty, and administrators regarding attendance
- Communicate with faculty regarding field trips, athletic events, special programs, AP Exams, and other special events to properly account for attendance
- Assist in the preparation of a variety of attendance reports for the Director of Student Life on an ongoing basis
Student Health Center Support - including but not limited to:
- Monitoring ill students until a parent/guardian arrives or student returns to class
- Calling parent/guardian when student becomes too ill to return to class or is injured
- Administering first aid as needed for minor injuries
- Taking ill student's temperature when appropriate
- When parent/guardian has medication(s) for student, make sure to keep medication(s) in safe storage with written universal medical form from parent/guardian and picture of student kept with the medication(s), as well as record when medication is given to any student
- Ensuring all student emergency information is accurate, up-to-date, and complete
- Keeping accurate records regarding students and their attendance
- Communicating with Director of Student Life, Dean of Students, or Counselor regarding a student's attendance and other issues ( i.e. tardiness, illness)
- Maintaining adequate supplies for the wellness room and keeping health supplies up to date and stored properly
- Keep the wellness room organized, orderly and clean at all times
- Regularly washing wellness room blankets and pillow cases
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Administrative Support - including but not limited to:
- Perform a variety clerical work, including filing, typing, verifying, and recording information on student records
- Procuring supplies for department as deemed necessary
- Interfacing with other departments on behalf of the Director of Student Life
- Assisting others in the Co-Curricular department as needed
- Write up incident reports on student/staff injuries and file with the Director of Student Life
- Annual update of emergency binders
- Annual update of emergency supply pouches
QualificationsMinimum
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor degree a plus
- Familiar with technology, including Google Workspace/Apps and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good communication skills
- CPR/First Aid Certified

- Bilingual
- Experience with school administrative software
