The Athletics AV Technician is an IT role responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and securing complex technology systems across multiple IT disciplines within the Athletics department. This position acts as a technical lead, provides guidance to junior staff, leads projects, and works independently on complex assignments while supporting strategic IT initiatives. This technician will need experience in networking, Audio Visual support and an understanding of broadcast support. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in networking, audiovisual (AV) systems, and broadcast/production support within a collegiate athletics, sports venue, or live-event environment. This individual will serve as the primary technology resource for FIU Athletics, supporting game-day operations, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining critical venue technologies, and ensuring seamless delivery of live athletic events.

Design, evaluate, and deploy technology solutions and software systems. Develop scripts and automation tools for systems administration. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members. Support network infrastructure, performance analysis, and troubleshooting. Manage and support databases, including quality control and security. Ensure compliance with information security policies and best practices. Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements. Work with vendors, business units, faculty/staff, and stakeholders to deliver IT services. Core Technical Areas Audio visual experience for live productions Systems Design & Architecture System evaluation, design, implementation, and strategic planning. Systems Administration Server management, scripting, deployment planning, and lifecycle management. Applications Development Leading development projects and integrating complex applications. Network Management Network performance analysis, technology research, and infrastructure support. Database Administration Database support, auditing, troubleshooting, and impact analysis. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) plus 4+ years of IT

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
