Department Overview:
The Office of the Registrar ensures institutional compliance and safeguards the integrity of academic records by managing critical student data, academic histories, and policy implementation to support students, faculty, and staff.
Job Summary/ Basic Function:
The primary purpose of this job is to establish and maintain student-athlete records and monitor academic progress and eligibility in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Pac-12 Conference, and Boise State University.

Level Scope:
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.
Essential Functions:
Student-Athlete Academic Eligibility and Certification
- Determine the eligibility of prospective and continuing student-athletes for practice and competition.
- Review academic records, enrollment, declared degree programs, academic standing, and applicable coursework to ensure compliance with NCAA, Pac-12, and Boise State requirements.
- Identify potential deficiencies related to degree progress and NCAA percentage-of-degree requirements.
- Monitor and update student-athlete eligibility data, academic records, certification reports, squad lists, and related documentation.
- Review eligibility for all sports following each semester and summer term, as applicable.
- Prepare eligibility memos and certification materials for athletic teams.
Degree Progress and Graduation Evaluation
- Assess student-athletes’ progress toward degree completion using applicable catalog and curriculum requirements.
- Maintain familiarity with academic programs, major requirements, curriculum changes, and courses that apply toward degree progress.
- Conduct graduation evaluations and final reviews of academic requirement reports.
- Notify students and advisors of graduation status and outstanding requirements.
- Review requests for waivers or adjustments to academic requirements while maintaining the integrity of the degree.
Policy Interpretation, Communication, and Support
- Interpret, apply, and explain university academic policies, degree requirements, and NCAA eligibility regulations.
- Compile data and prepare reports using online database systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience researching, interpreting and applying university policies and procedures with knowledge and training of transfer credit issues and graduation requirements
- Experience interpreting, applying and explaining university and NCAA policies and procedures
- Experience compiling data and preparing reports
- Experience using database systems
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

- Higher education background and experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively, display flexibility, and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and exercise professional decision making
Salary and Benefits:
Salary for this position is $49,732.80 annually.
