$1,000 sign-on bonus available to eligible new hires for the ATDM Precision Manufacturing Technician – CNC Machining role: $500 after 30 days and $500 after 90 days of continuous employment. Subject to taxes.

This position requires eligibility to access controlled unclassified and other regulated technical information in accordance with applicable federal requirements. This role is not eligible for remote work and will be based onsite in Danville, Virginia.

Work Schedule
This position works a first-shift schedule designed to support advanced manufacturing operations. You may be expected to work other shifts as business needs determine.

- 6:30 am - 3:30 pm
How You Will Help the Team
You will play a critical support role in delivering high-quality hands-on instruction for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program. By supporting instructors and students in the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) lab, you will help ensure labs are safe, well-equipped, and ready for instruction in a fast-paced, accelerated training environment.
What You Will Do
- Support NDT instructors during lab-based instruction for the ATDM program
- Assist students in the lab with proper use of equipment, materials, and processes
- Prepare labs for instruction, including setup and teardown
- Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment
- Monitor and restock consumables as needed
- Follow and reinforce shop safety and radiation safety practices
- Provide general operational and logistical support for the ATDM program
- Travel occasionally, as required
Lab instruction includes the following NDT methods: Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual & Optical Testing (VT).

Your Knowledge & Expertise
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Knowledge of shop safety practices
- Technical math skills, including trigonometry
- Working knowledge of NDT methods:
- - Visual Testing (VT)
- - Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- - Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
- - Radiographic Testing (RT)
- - Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- - Radiation safety
- Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Comfort using technology in an instructional or training environment and a willingness to learn new tools

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Onsite work in Danville, Virginia
- Ability to work first, second, or third shift class schedules:
- - First shift begins at 7:00 a.m.
- - Second shift begins at 3:00 p.m.
- - Third shift begins at 11:00 p.m.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work performed in a laboratory and shop environment with adherence to safety protocols
