Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Heavy-Duty Transmission Technician - a driven, self-motivated professional who delivers top-quality service and builds strong customer relationships.

*Cross training for Detroit Diesel, Carrier Refrigeration, and Fleet repair available*

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

  • Diagnose and repair heavy-duty vehicle transmission issues, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on transmissions, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and repair transmissions, differential systems, and associated components.
  • Rebuild and reassemble transmissions to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repaired transmissions and perform necessary adjustments to meet operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Communicate with management and team members regarding repairs, estimates, and recommendations for additional services.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Stay current on industry advancements and technologies.

What You Bring:

  • Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining transmissions in a shop, fleet or road side assistance (minimum 3 years preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems, including transmissions, hydraulics, and powertrains.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with both manual and automatic transmission systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical service manuals and schematics.
  • Your own tools and a good driving record

Nice to Have:

  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
  • ASE Certifications
