Job Description

UW Bothell offers student employment opportunities to help prepare students by providing practical work experience. Students are provided professional development and mentoring to develop skills to support post-graduation employment preparation and success.

Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) - Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute respectfully to the diverse and inclusive work environment at UWB and the Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) department
  • Perform outreach to students about SEA programs, events, and services to promote student involvement, and provide current information about campus resources
  • Maintain shared workspace with other student leaders, including supplies management, rotating cleaning and organizational duties, prompt reporting of issues, etc.
  • Maintain active, timely communication with advisor(s)/supervisor and team
  • Connect with the UW Bothell student body to find out what different students want and/or need
  • Maintain documents and folders in a shared digital filing system, on the student engagement platform, social media, and other technology assigned by the department
  • Perform clerical duties including documenting and updating processes, data entry, maintaining work calendars, and scheduling meetings
  • Support and staff SEA events and operations as needed. This includes but is not limited to: New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, SEA org support, and large-scale campus events
  • Represent the SEA department at events and as requested by supervisor
  • Support the recruitment of future student leaders during hiring processes

Role-specific duties

The Marketing & Events Coordinator shall:

  1. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of events designed to enhance ASUWB’s student engagement. Survey students for event effectiveness

  1. Stimulate community interest in the ASUWB Senate and Board of Directors, promoting awareness of the resources ASUWB provides to the student body

  1. Regulate and monitor ASUWB branding, marketing, social media, and the website

  1. Serve as the ASUWB representative on committees about outreach and public relations

  1. Coordinate, create, design, and publish ASUWB Quarterly and Annual Reports

  1. Collaborate with the Director of Finance to manage engagement budgets

  1. Actively communicate with student groups and UW departments to foster strong community relations

  1. Attend at least three (3) Board of Directors meetings per quarter

  1. Meet with the Director of Community Partnerships at least every two (2) weeks

Pay Rate

This position is hourly at $21.30/hour (subject to change on January 1, 2027)

Employment Period (estimated)

September 1st, 2026 - June 30th, 2026

Employment is dependent on SAF funding approval.

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for this position, applicants must be:

  • Committed to working in a culturally diverse environment
  • A matriculated University of Washington Bothell student
  • Able to commit for the entire academic year, incl. fall, winter, and spring quarters
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits as an undergraduate student or at least 5 credits as a graduate student each quarter of employment
  • Able to work in person (percentage of in-person work depends on position)
  • In good standing with UWB. Good standing is defined as:
    • Must have a 2.5 cumulative and quarterly GPA
    • Must be in good judicial standing (student conduct)
