Lab Assistant for Descriptive Astronomy (Phy 115). Assist students with telescope setup and transporting equipment to observatory site in Crawford County.
Requirements
Student must have completed Descriptive Astronomy class Phy 115 and have detailed experience in the following areas. Must be able to setup and properly operate Meade LX200 goto telescope. Assistant must know proper telescope alignment procedures. Should also be able to find stars, constellations and deep sky objects visible from our location. Demonstrated ability to assist astronomy students with setup and finding astronomical targets. Student assistant is expected to provide their own transportation and have a vehicle suitable for transporting equipment.
Pay rate $10.00 per hour
