Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.
Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.
Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.
As an Assurance Specialist at Waythrough, you will play a key role in supporting operational assurance and driving continuous improvement across our services. Working closely with the Assurance Lead and the wider Performance and Data team, you will help embed our assurance framework, ensuring services have the right measures, processes and oversight in place to deliver high-quality, safe and effective support.
You will provide expert guidance on assurance metrics, incident management and regulatory expectations, helping operational colleagues understand performance information and translate insights into meaningful actions. You will also support learning from incidents and complaints, identify opportunities to share best practice, and contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Working across different services in response to assurance needs, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, supporting the implementation of assurance measures for new services and contracts. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by strengthening governance, improving service delivery and ensuring our assurance processes support positive outcomes for the people we work wit
You will be an analytical, organised and solution-focused professional with experience of monitoring assurance measures and supporting quality and performance improvement within a large charity or similar organisation. You will have a good understanding of assurance best practice and the ability to interpret complex information, turning it into clear, practical recommendations that support effective decision-making.
You will be confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, presenting information effectively and building relationships that encourage collaboration and accountability. With strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, you will be comfortable working flexibly across different teams and adapting to changing operational needs.
You will also bring:
Experience of developing and embedding assurance frameworks, introducing supporting meeting structures, working with stakeholders to establish requirements, or working within the sectors in which Waythrough operates would also be advantageous.
Above all, you will share Waythrough's values of Kindness, Courage and Respect, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning, high-quality services and positive outcomes for the people we support.
