Job Description

The Assistant Manager of Supply Chain Operations provides daily operational leadership for supply chain functions including inventory management, distribution, receiving, par leveling, and supply logistics. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and timely movement of materials throughout the organization while supporting cost effective utilization of supplies. The Associate Manager partners closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure reliable service, maintain inventory integrity, and support continuous process improvement. .

Experience:

Experience Required:

•3–5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, materials management, or related operational field.

•1+ year of experience in a supervisory or lead role.

Experience Preferred:

•Healthcare supply chain experience.

•Experience with ERP inventory systems (e.g., Lawson, Workday, Oracle).

•Experience with Lean, process improvement, or project leadership.

Education:

Education Preferred:

•Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, Logistics, or related field; or equivalent experience.

•Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

•Supply chain–related certifications (e.g., CMRP, CSCP, CLSSGB).

Essential Functions:

•Supervise daily supply chain operations and staff.

•Maintain inventory accuracy and supply availability.

•Oversee receiving, replenishment, and distribution workflows.

•Ensure timely resolution of supply-related issues.

•Support product conversions and system-wide supply initiatives.

•Maintain required documentation and regulatory compliance.

•Prepare reports, metrics, and operational summaries as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

•Oversee daily supply chain operations including inventory, receiving, distribution, and replenishment workflows.

•Ensure accurate and timely delivery of supplies to clinical departments.

•Monitor performance metrics and operational KPIs to identify and address issues proactively.

Inventory & Materials Management

•Maintain appropriate inventory levels across assigned areas to minimize shortages and overstock.

•Ensure compliance with established par levels, stock rotation, expiration management, and documentation standards.

•Support the implementation of system-wide standardization initiatives and product changes.

Team Supervision & Development

•Lead, coach, and evaluate supply chain staff, promoting engagement and accountability.

•Coordinate daily staffing assignments and adjust workload distribution as needed.

•Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Process Improvement

•Identify workflow inefficiencies and drive process improvements that enhance productivity and accuracy.

•Partner with Supply Chain leadership to support Lean initiatives and standard work practices.

•Support technology optimization including ERP, handheld scanners, and automated supply systems.

Stakeholder Collaboration

•Serve as primary contact for clinical departments to resolve supply concerns, facilitate product changes, and manage service needs.

•Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and leadership regarding inventory issues and operational updates.

Compliance & Safety

•Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.

•Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment consistent with infection control expectations.
