The SWIFT and RENTAS Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, management and oversight of the organization's SWIFT and RENTAS operations. This role requires a deep understanding of the payments industry, regulatory landscape, and technological advancements to ensure operational excellence.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Global Payment Centre.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Functional (job responsibilities)
Lead the full project lifecycle for payment system upgrades, including scoping requirements, stakeholder discussions, and managing UAT/regression tests.
Ensure compliance with BNM guidelines, AML/CTF regulations, and PayNet participation rules.
Oversee day-to-day operations of SWIFT and RENTAS functions, including payment processing, reconciliation, and exception handling.
Drive operational efficiency by continuously evaluating and enhancing processes to improve accuracy and productivity.
Mitigate operational risks by identifying and assessing risks associated with SWIFT and RENTAS operations and formulating robust controls.
Provide strategic solutions to the operations team and front-line staff for handling complex queries.
Manage reporting and analysis through the timely and accurate compilation of statistics for senior management and regulators.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and regulators like PayNet and SWIFT.
Jobholder Requirements
Malaysian citizen.
Education/Qualification
Diploma / Degree in any discipline or experience in payments or branch operations and risk management.
Experience/Requirements
Minimum 6 years in payment operations or project management, specifically with SWIFT, RENTAS, and PayNet systems.
Deep knowledge and experience with the ISO 20022 message standard.
Understanding of the broader payments landscape and emerging payment technologies system e.g. SAA
Proven rapport with PayNet and SWIFT is essential.
