Salary Schedule
To assist with the supervision of the staffing managers to ensure all schools are fully staffed and work locations receive employment assistance. Assist in the development and implementation of efficient training and human resource processes in support of the department and District’s goals. Assist in the supervision of administrative hiring processes when assigned by the Sr Director, Employment Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of organization and management theory and practice. Knowledge and understanding of human resources management, including labor relations, equal employment opportunity, and personnel performance appraisal and accountability systems. Knowledge and commitment to decentralized decision-making and accountability for results. Knowledge and understanding of the distinction between line and staff positions and functions in an organization as it relates to district support programs and services. Knowledge of school finance, budget development and implementation, support services delivery systems and the District’s HRMD plan. Ability to work and communicate effectively with people to focus resources (both human and financial) toward the achievement of district goals. Ability to facilitate group processes in consensus building, conflict, resolution, planning, and decision-making. Understands that quality teaching and learning is the essential processes and product of public schools and has the ability to focus human and financial resources toward this end. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:* Manifests a professional code of ethics and values.* Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.* Models the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks.* Assist with the management of all functions and services related to the staffing managers, personnel specialists, employment coordinators and administrative processes.* Assist with the management of school-based administrator selection processes. Plan and direct a system of feedback and assessment of the services provided by the Employment Services Department as perceived by users of those services.* Direct, supervise and evaluate the performance of each support services staff reporting directly to him/her in terms of holding them accountable for productivity in achieving and supporting the district’s goals.* Provide leadership and assist with the management of Employment Services consistent with federal, state and district regulations and assist central office departments, other non-school related work locations and Learning Communities with compliance issues.* Provide technical expertise and support services to all district work locations through efficient staffing processes consistent with compliance regulations and district goals.* Manage the annual reappointment and recalculation processes.* Prepare and analyze employment services reports and assist with the management of projects aligned to the department’s strategic goals.* Assist in the preparation of federal and DOE reports.* Direct the establishment and maintenance of clear lines of communication, dissemination of information and decision-making within the department and between departmental staff, Learning Communities, and other work locations.* Keep the Senior Director, Employment Services informed of critical issues within the department and incidents about which his/her supervisor should be aware.* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines, executive limitations, the ends policies, the district’s instructional initiatives, and the school district’s charter guidelines.* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.* Develop leadership in subordinates.* Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.* Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.* Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.* Essential Performance Responsibilities TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day. Every year, more than 100 graduates from OCPS high schools are accepted into top-20 colleges and universities around the country, as well as U.S. service academies. The district also boasts a 97.9% graduate rate among its 20 traditional high schools.
By 2020, every OCPS student had a laptop or digital device as a part of an aggressive and innovative digital learning program. The Center for Digital Education and National School Boards Association ranks OCPS among the top 10 on its annual Digital School Districts Survey. Currently, every secondary student has a laptop.
OCPS celebrated its 150th anniversary in December 2019. Thanks to Orange County voters and taxpayers, 50 new schools have been built and more than 120 school construction projects completed since 2003.
