JOB SUMMARY

Ensure proper washing of associate personal clothing. Sort the associates’ bed linens before sending to LMAA laundry and maintains a record. Assists in any tasks needed in the Accommodation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

• Previously experience working in the laundry

Skills and Knowledge

• Good oral and written communication skills in English
• Able to get on well with people of different backgrounds
• Pro-active and reliable
• Able to work alone and within a team
• Has knowledge of laundry chemicals and fabrics

SPECIFIC DUTIES

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

• Proper sorting or segregation of associates personal clothing before washing to avoid color stains.
• Wash, folds and arranges clean clothing of associates in their respective laundry bag or basket.
• Sends associates’ soiled bed linen to Le Meridien Al Aqah (LMAA) laundry and keeps a record before releasing.
• Once the bed linens are received from LMAA laundry, arranges the bed linens to the shelves according to associates’ laundry number.
• Cleans all laundry machines after use and if any damage informs the Accommodation and HR Coordinator.
• Washes DDCR associates’ personal clothing and count them properly for billing purposes.
• Maintains associates’ washing records.
• Use correct chemicals.
• Maintains the cleanliness at the laundry area.

Other Functions

• Issue and records the following:
• Use of vacuum cleaner borrowed by the associates and make sure it’s not damaged after return.
• Associates’ request for bed linen replacement, toilet rolls, bedside lamps, brooms, etc. once the Accommodation and HR Coordinator has approved the release.
• Assists the Accommodation and HR Coordinator in making a room ready for occupancy ie. furniture shifting, cleaning of the room and changing the bed linen.
• Assists the Accommodation and HR Coordinator in shifting the vending machine items
• During the absence of the staff accommodation cleaner:
• Broom and mop the accommodation corridors and common areas including gym.
• Fix the shower head, bidet in the accommodation rooms.
• Clear the garbage bins in the accommodation areas.
• Assists in preparing the buffet set-up at the dune dinner site for the meals of associates on duty and guests’ drivers during dune site events.
• Works with staff accommodation cleaner in disinfecting the rooms of positive COVID associates and quarantine room.
• Assists the staff accommodation cleaner in cleaning, removing the soiled linen at the quarantine room and prepare the bed for the next associate to use.
• Take turns with staff accommodation cleaner in collecting food from the cafeteria for quarantined associates.
• Assists the staff accommodation cleaner in cleaning and seting up the room for the incoming visitor at the Management accommodation.
• Performs other duties as reasonably requested by the supervisor or senior leaders.
