POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Wealth Advisor serves as an intermediate-level relationship manager within the Trust & Wealth Management department, responsible for administering and retaining a portfolio of client relationships. This role functions as an apprentice advisor, managing primarily smaller and less complex accounts—including investment management and IRA relationships—while developing the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary for advancement.

The Associate Wealth Advisor is accountable for delivering high-quality fiduciary services, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining strong client retention. This role may support more senior advisors on larger, more complex relationships and is encouraged to participate in business development activities, though consistent production is not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Manages a portfolio of client relationships to ensure alignment with client risk tolerance, objectives, and overall financial goals.
  2. Serves as the primary point of contact for accounts developed or assigned, coordinating all aspects of the client relationship with department employees to deliver a seamless and high-quality client experience, monitoring client satisfaction in order to maximize retention and increase sales opportunities.
  3. Administers investment management, IRA, endowment, and custody accounts in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations, including without limitation Department and Board charter and directives, FDIC standards, the Prudent Investor Act, and the Uniform Principal and Income Act.
  4. Maintains accurate and complete client files and documentation to support compliance with regulatory, audit, examination directives, and internal standards.
  5. Conducts regular client outreach through phone, e-mail, written communication, and in person meetings; exercises independent judgment in resolving client inquiries and responds to client requests in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Completes periodic account reviews, including investment allocation oversight, ensuring alignment with client objectives and documentation accuracy.
  7. Monitors client satisfaction and proactively addresses concerns to support strong retention and identify opportunities to deepen relationships and cultivate referrals.
  8. Pursues ongoing professional development, including training education related to fiduciary, investment, tax, estate, and retirement topics.
  9. Develops and deepens relationships with centers of influence and internal partners, responding promptly to referrals and contributing to new business opportunities as appropriate.
  10. Understands and adheres to all Departmental policies and procedures involving account administration, maintaining working knowledge of applicable regulations and fiduciary standards impacting client accounts and services.
  11. Represents RCB Bank by being active in the community, actively participating in service organizations, community activities, networking events, etc. to promote a positive organization image and to generate leads for new business efforts.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum three (3) years of customer service experience
  • Previous Investment experience

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Due to the upward mobility of the position, continued education is encouraged to obtain professional designations and/or additional licenses, as applicable

JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of investment regulations, compliance and other legal matters
  • Foundational understanding of investment principles, financial markets, and sales processes
  • Ability to think practically and quantitatively in analysis/evaluation, resolving problems and taking calculated action to make decisions within a business context
  • Ability to think clearly, learn quickly, and communicate ideas/knowledge in a convincing way that gets results
  • Demonstrates a positive, energetic approach; maintains an ethical, respectful, and authentic demeanor; and focuses on opportunities rather than obstacles
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and through written communication
  • Knowledge of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trust and investment software

WORKING CONDITIONS

Individuals in this position must be able to perform essential functions and physical demands within these documented working conditions with or without reasonable accommodation:

This position is in an office environment within a climate-controlled facility that can be high-traffic during peak service times. There is frequent use of the telephone, computer and other office equipment associated with this position. Individuals in this position are typically seated at their personal desk for most of the day. This position may require some travel to different locations at times which will result in some tasks being performed in venues (internal and/or external of the bank) other than the assigned office.

The individual responsible for this role must be able to perform job functions with indirect supervision and work effectively as a member of a team and independently. The individual must be capable of working harmoniously with diverse personalities of co-workers, staff and customers. This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work varying hours.
