Position Summary

Join Deloitte’s AI & Engineering team to help transform technology platforms, drive innovation, and make a significant impact on client success. In this role, you will help define and deliver product capabilities for BenefitsIQ that align to strategic priorities and business objectives. You’ll work across business, technical, and executive stakeholders to improve operational efficiency, support scalable product enhancements, and deliver solutions that strengthen benefits administration operations.

Work you'll do

As an Associate Vice President, Engineering Delivery Management on the BenefitsIQ team, you will be responsible for:

  • Product Definition – Clearly translate the business vision/strategy as defined by Product Strategy / Business Leadership into specific product initiatives. Create business descriptions and help build the business case to pursue each enhancement. Calculate the Return on Investment for each enhancement and prioritize these enhancements to ensure alignment with strategic business initiatives. Help author the strategic value proposition for all enhancements. Translates specific efficiency and automation requests into product enhancement initiatives and manageable epics of work for their Agile team.
  • Product Decisions: Present all product concepts with Product Strategy / Business Leadership to the Executive Leadership team and drive decisions. Own and manage the strategic product roadmap for your Domain w/in the Benefits Admin Platform.
  • Product Knowledge – Be a subject matter expert of your domain, including its features and functionality, user experience, and connections to other parts of the platform. Have technical subject matter expertise for the product modules and features that you own and their connections to other parts of the platform. Grow your team’s knowledge of our product portfolio and infuse that into our product development. Be able to articulate the strategic value proposition for your product roadmap and perform demonstrations of your products. Maintain domain knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Communication – Serve as the primary interface between Product Strategy / Business Leadership and Agile teams.
  • Feature Release Planning - Enable Agile team to estimate the relative size of specific product initiatives / epics. Using these estimates, assist the Technical Team in determining a reasonable release schedule, that meets strategic business needs, for a given product and/or feature.
  • Sprint Planning – Enable the Agile team and Scrum-master to estimate the relative size of specific product epics - stories. Prioritize and maintain a backlog to ensure teams are planning ahead and delivering efficiently.
  • Product Deployment –Responsible for sharing how to deploy/use products, and serve as a resource to answer product specific questions/inquiries. Liaises with implementation teams and external agents to accomplish project timeline objectives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience defining product initiatives, epics, and roadmap priorities for technology platforms.
  • 8 + years of experience working with Agile delivery teams to support backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and release planning
  • 8 + years of experience presenting product recommendations and priorities to business and executive stakeholders
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
  • Ability to travel 15-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • 8+ years of experience with benefits administration platforms or health product capabilities
  • 4 + years of experience calculating return on investment and developing business cases for product enhancements
  • Experience supporting product deployment and implementation activities
  • Experience in Government & Public Services or public sector environments

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Illinois, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Illinois and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,700 - $292,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
