Your new role

As Associate Vice President for Commercial Supply Chain in International Operations, you will:

  • Report to the Senior Vice President of Finance of International Opertions and be a member of the Finance International Operations leadership team. The position also has dotted line responsibility to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for Novo Nordisk.
  • Operationally secure supply to more than 37 million patients, with a strategic ambition to make International Operations Commercial Supply Chain a more customer-focused supply chain that delivers a competitive advantage to Novo Nordisk.
  • Be part of turning commercial strategies, budget and brand plans into forecast/demand and drive prediction of IO sales volume for upcoming period to be used as the base for Novo Nordisk Supply and Demand Balancing (S&OP).
  • Strengthen understanding of customer needs across the value chain – from pipeline to patient and build differentiated service offering in close collaboration with Development and strategic functions in International Operations, Product Supply, R&D and Product and Portfolio Strategy.
  • Own the Novo Nordisk Local Manufacturing Strategy and ensure that International Operations is executing and delivering return on investment.

Your skills & qualifications

To excel in this role, you’ll need a relevant academic degree within Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics or Manufacturing.

Relevant experience includes:

  • 15 years of experience within Supply Chain Management, pharmaceutical production, and/or general business.
  • 5 years of experience in a senior management team.
  • Minimum 5 years of international experience, preferably in IO/Emerging Markets countries.
  • You will manage a direct team of 15 people and a functional organisation of approx. 250 supply chain professionals, so strong people management experience is required (ideally managing large and diverse teams).
  • Experience in delivering business objectives in alignment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in effectively and persuasively articulating complex issues to key decision makers.
  • Experience in analysing complex issues, utilising strategic thinking and implementing tactical plans. Profound understanding of pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing, GDP, and relevant laws and regulations impacting a multi-national pharmaceutical company.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
