AVP, Client Data Solutions provides both strategic leadership and operational direction for Co-operators data infrastructure, architecture, platforms, and capabilities. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable data pipelines, systems, and solutions to enable data-driven decision making across the organization. This role will be critical to create the unified view of the Customer (Customer 360) to enable and accelerate our Guided Omni program. This in turn accelerates data-informed decision making, unlocks major efficiency gains, and enables exceptional client experiences. The AVP, Client Data Solutions leads a team of data engineers and analysts responsible for building, integrating, managing, and enhancing data infrastructure including ELT/ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) pipelines, data warehouses, data marts, data lakes and self serve reporting platforms. They establish sound data engineering best practices, methodologies, and processes while keeping close pace with emerging technologies and recruit and develop top data engineering talent to cultivate and sustain a high-performing team.

How you will create impact:

  • Partner with business, product, and data teams to define and deliver data products supporting digital, personalization, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  • Lead a team of data engineers responsible for data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, warehouses, marts, and lakes.
  • Advance insight capabilities for contact centre, customer experience, and personalization strategies.
  • Analyze data and models to generate insights that strengthen omni-channel performance, lead management, and customer sales and service experiences.
  • Lead large-scale, complex initiatives, integrating change management, communications, and training into delivery plans.
  • Present progress, insights, and recommendations to executive leaders and stakeholders through steering committees and quarterly reviews.
  • Contribute to data architecture and innovation practices to enhance data products and business insights.

To join our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in data and technology leadership, delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.
  • Strong expertise in data engineering, architecture, governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience leading direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Python, Spark, Power BI, and Azure technologies, including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning.
  • Experience building unified customer data capabilities to enable personalization, digital experiences, and customer analytics.
  • Industry experience with insurance and benefits products, services, and customer journeys across the full lifecycle.
