Job Description

At Greencross Moorooka, we have been part of the local community for more than 35 years, caring for generations of pets and the people who love them.

We are a tight-knit, warm and capable team with a proud reputation for high standard care, loyal clients, and a clinic culture that balances clinical excellence with a very real sense of fun. We care deeply about low-stress handling, thoughtful patient experiences, and helping pets live long, happy and healthy lives.

This is a clinic where we know our clients, we celebrate good medicine, and we still find time to laugh together. We are also known around Moorooka for our funny roadside signs, which says a lot about who we are.

We are looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our Moorooka team.

What makes Moorooka special

We are a Stress Free Pets accredited clinic, with our whole team trained to help patients feel calmer, safer and more supported. Our clinic is designed with comfort in mind, including:

  • A designated cat consult room
  • A large dog consult room
  • Four consult rooms
  • Separate dog and cat enclosures
  • Heated cages
  • Temperature-controlled and pheromone-infused spaces

You will also be supported with the tools to do your best work, including:

  • Digital radiography
  • Handheld dental X-ray
  • Vet-tome dental machine
  • In-house haematology
  • Ultrasound

Who will thrive here

You will feel at home at Moorooka if you are a vet who values connection, kindness and good medicine in equal measure.

You might be someone who:

  • Enjoys building trusted relationships with loyal clients
  • Takes pride in calm, thoughtful and thorough patient care
  • Works well with nurses and sees them as true clinical partners
  • Values mentoring, learning and sharing knowledge
  • Brings warmth, humour and a team-first approach to the day
  • Wants to be part of a clinic with strong community roots

We are serious about continuing education, training and mentoring, but we are just as serious about enjoying the time we spend together. We want someone who will add to the culture, care about the people around them, and help us keep creating the kind of clinic pets and clients feel safe walking into.

Moorooka is a well-loved community clinic with loyal clients and a team that cares deeply. That means we show up with consistency, patience and pride, because our clients trust us with animals who are part of their families.

What we back you with

At Greencross, we are committed to helping our vets build sustainable, rewarding careers. Depending on your needs and role structure, support may include:

  • Flexible working options to suit your lifestyle
  • 6 weeks paid parental leave
  • World-class continuing education, including our annual clinical conference, workshops, webinars and external training
  • One week of paid study leave in addition to four weeks annual leave
  • Scholarships for high-level education courses
  • Paid AVA membership or annual veterinary registration
  • Heidi AI note-taking to reduce admin and give you more time where it counts
  • Access to trained Mental Health Officers, mental health training, a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program and gold-level accreditation with Mental Health First Aid Australia
