Position Purpose

At Country Hills Veterinary Hospital we are ready to introduce you to the community of East Point, KY and the surrounding area! Our clients go beyond your typical dogs and cats, since we see reptiles, small mammals and birds! At our practice, you're welcome to take your medical interests (including exotics) wherever you want to go!

Our clients deserve the best care, so in order to provide that we have 3 exam rooms, a large treatment area and a boarding facility attached. You'll also be able to master your surgery skills with soft tissue surgery (and orthopedics if that's your thing!). Our equipment includes digital radiographs, inhouse labs and ultrasound. Whatever you need, if we don't have it we'll get it for you!

About the area: Just as the name implies, we're just about as far east as you can get in KY! Rich in history and outdoor activities, it's a perfect place to get involved with your community or roam the Appalachian mountains!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
