Dr. Barta opened Barta Animal Hospital in January 1973 in a former automotive repair shop that he had remodeled. He built a new clinic in 1997. Dr. Barta grew his clinic from one doctor and two staff into today’s successful, growing practice.

We are a true mixed animal practice, providing high-quality veterinary services in Southeast Kansas for pets of all sizes.

Associate Veterinarian (Mixed Animal)

Up to $75,000 Total Bonus Package

Essential Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-quality medical and surgical care for small and large animal patients
  • Perform wellness exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery, and farm calls
  • Educate clients on preventive care, treatment options, and herd or companion animal health
  • Build lasting relationships with clients while delivering compassionate care throughout every stage of an animal's life
  • Collaborate with an experienced veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency and on-call schedule
  • Maintain accurate medical records and practice in accordance with veterinary regulations and medical standards

Requirements/Qualifications

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited program
  • Active Kansas veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous mixed animal experience preferred
  • Ability to participate in a rotating after-hours ER/on-call schedule
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Collaborative, professional, and team-oriented approach to patient care
