Walton County Animal Clinic is a full-service, multi-doctor hospital that has been treating pets in our community for almost 40 years. We offer the highest quality wellness, diagnostic, and surgical services to our canine and feline companions.

Our team excels at making every day fun. Our doctors are supported by a young, energetic team of veterinary technicians who we utilize for anything and everything.

Position Purpose

Walton County Animal Clinic has been part of the DeFuniak Springs community for nearly 40 years. We’re a small animal practice known for strong client relationships, practical medicine, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together. Here, you’re trusted to practice medicine the way you were trained—while living close enough to Florida’s Emerald Coast to enjoy beach days on your time off.

We’re looking for an Associate DVM who values collaboration, appreciates independence in medical decision-making, and wants to be part of a practice that still feels personal.

Competencies

  • VET with Sound clinical judgment

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to small animal patients

  • Perform routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments

  • Conduct routine soft tissue surgery and dentistry

  • Develop and explain treatment plans to clients

  • Maintain accurate medical records

  • Collaborate with technicians and support staff

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Active Florida veterinary license or ability to obtain
  • Experience preferred
  • Comfortable with routine surgery and dentistry
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
