Job Description

For our department General Retakaful Facultative we are seeking to appoint a Associate Underwriter - Facultative Casualty commencing immediately on a permanent, full-time basis.

You can look forward to

• Responsible for the Casualty, Liability and Financial Lines.
• Promote and maintain excellent relationship with cedants and brokers.
• Take part in the design, evaluation, communication and execution of new business development strategies.
• Participate in seminars and conferences and provide training to business partners as assigned.
• Keeping updated of all developments in the market from all aspects, including technical changes, market capacity, rating levels, trends, etc., and the effect these factors have on the Company’s underwriting philosophy.

You come equipped with

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree is a plus)
• Professional qualification in insurance (ACII, CPCU) is a plus
• 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar underwriting role
• Strong marketing, communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent contact base and market understanding in the MENA region
• Comfortable working with digital platforms and AI-enabled tools (e.g. Copilot) in an underwriting environment
• Strong command of English and Arabic
