Job Description

Citi’s Banking franchise is organized around three lines of business: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking. The unified Banking and International organization oversees the local delivery of the full firm to clients in each of the 95 markets where Citi has an on-the-ground presence.

Citi Corporate Bank serves as the conduit of Citi’s full product suite to clients through holistically managed relationships across our unparalleled network.

The Associate will be placed in the Hong Kong Top Tier Local Corporates and Public Sector Coverage Team within Hong Kong Corporate Banking.

The Corporate Banking Associate is an intermediate level professional responsible for managing local corporate and public sector client relationships and driving revenue growth by cross selling various solutions across the entire Citi platform (as per identified client needs) in close coordination with different Product Partners / stakeholders while efficiently deploying the firm's capital to maximize returns. The Associate will also provide support to Senior Bankers in managing more complex client relationships such as diversified conglomerates. The role is also responsible for holistically evaluating and managing Credit Risk, as well as all other Risk and Control aspects of client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day cash management activities, foreign exchange and derivative transactions, loan activity and Debt Capital Market efforts.
  • Partner with Senior Bankers to provide overall relationship management support, including various marketing initiatives / efforts.
  • Support Senior Bankers in cross-selling full spectrum of products and services by identifying customer needs to generate revenue and increase Citi’s share of wallet.
  • Conduct marketing and execution activities in coordination with all relevant stakeholders from various functions and international geographies across Citi’s global network.
  • Develop understanding of all credit, transactional and franchise risks in coordination with Senior Bankers to facilitate seamless deal execution as well as timely and appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Manage all aspects of credit, capital and customer due diligence processes.
  • Support business planning, strategy formulation and various department initiatives.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made. Drive compliance with policies and applicable laws, rules and regulations. Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices. Escalate and report control issues with transparency.
  • Responsible for evaluating public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
  • Responsible for staying abreast of market and industry trends, “best practices” and competitive landscape


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Strong credit skills, credit background and knowledge of Citi’s credit policies and procedures
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Banking business including related products, pertinent regulations and client onboarding, know-your-customer due diligence and credit approval process
  • Demonstrated planning, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, MBA or Master's Degree in Business preferred
