Baylor University invites applications for its inaugural Director of Public Humanities This role includes a tenured faculty appointment in an appropriate academic department within the College of Arts & Sciences (e.g., History, English, Philosophy, Religion, Anthropology, Art History, Communication, or related humanities disciplines) at the rank of associate or full professor.
The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership for the development and growth of innovative, community-engaged humanities programs at Baylor while maintaining an active program of scholarship and teaching within their disciplinary home. The Director will provide strategic leadership of public-facing humanities initiatives, build and sustain relationships with community organizations, support faculty and student involvement in public scholarship, convene interdisciplinary collaborations across Baylor’s departments and colleges, identify and pursue external funding opportunities, manage internal financial commitments to public humanities initiatives, and lead program assessments.
Scholars working in any humanistic discipline and subfield are welcome to apply.
