Job Description

What success looks like in this role:

  • Provides onsite technical support and hardware repair services across Sydney CBD area.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs laptops, desktops, and related IT hardware.
  • Replaces hardware components including motherboards, screens, keyboards, batteries, SSDs, memory, and other field-replaceable parts.
  • Performs hardware diagnostics, BIOS and firmware updates, system testing, and validation activities.
  • Manages assigned service calls, parts inventory, schedules, and travel requirements efficiently.
  • Completes service documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Works independently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, service delivery teams, and technical support groups.
  • Follows customer-specific processes, safety requirements, and service level commitments.
  • Meets SLA targets while delivering a positive customer experience.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical certification, associate degree, or relevant vocational training preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in computer hardware repair, field services, desktop support, or technical support environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across laptop and desktop hardware.
  • Experience installing and replacing hardware components such as motherboards, screens, batteries, keyboards, SSDs, and memory modules.
  • Good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop computing environments.
  • Experience working with Dell, Lenovo, or other major OEM hardware platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite service requests.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the Cairns region.
  • OEM or manufacturer certifications are desirable.
