Associate Technical Director (Mechanical -MEP) Level 9 (Technical)

MEP: You are recognized as a specialist in your domain of expertise, both in the GEC and the countries. You provide high-level technical expertise to project teams for the successful delivery of projects across the GECs. You should have sound knowledge of various Mechanical systems, especially HVAC, PHE, Compressed air systems, Fire Protection, sustainability, renewable energies like geothermal, solar heating etc. You should have substantial experience in designs of complex projects, Design of mobility and other building projects, Infrastructure projects in various regions, stage working, Risk Assessments, managing projects and team, Interfacing with other disciplines, client, and region. Ability to provide solution for complex issues or unusual situations. You will be involved in bid support and reviewing the estimates produced by pursuit team. You will train, guide & mentor the junior designers & team members.

Qualification & Experience:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • 20+ years of design experience with a wide variety of Mobility, other buildings, and infrastructure projects including Rail, metro, tunnels.
  • Candidate should have experience in leading and managing complex design projects independently.
  • Chartership with reputed international professional bodies is preferred.

Principal Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Review of complex designs deliverables for major projects for HVAC, PHE, Fire and related systems.
  • Will perform in CRE roles.
  • Assist design teams in finding optimal solution to meet their project requirements.
  • Be part of tender teams and advice on technical solution.
  • Perform independent technical reviews for complex projects across the regions that GEC working.
  • Operate partly outside the project environment to support professional leadership in your discipline.
  • Provide direction to colleagues who are managing very large or complex projects.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of area of work and have been involved in various complex projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to complex multi-disciplinary projects across GECs and countries.
  • Contribute to the further development of level of expertise in your area of work.
  • Continuously improve design processes leveraging technology to minimize risk.
  • Role model Arcadis’ HS&W principles with a robust understanding of safe design processes.
  • Actively involved in discipline and organizational initiatives that are aimed for betterment of organization and people.
  • Be a role model for effective delegation to achieve best outcomes for team and organization.
  • Develop strong, partnering relationships with GBA to identify and resolve issues, identify business opportunities, and establish protocols to improve the services being offered.
  • Have a broad understanding of the business and financial metrics prompting you to drive innovation to increase team contribution needed for the successful operation of the business.
  • Actively innovate to ensure all projects contribute to sustainable developments.
  • Have a deep understanding of future trends and technologies and assist in implementing them in our projects.
  • Play a major role in forming the strategy of your area of work.
  • Actively amend design processes and seek opportunities for standardization.
  • Actively achieve efficiency and quality improvements through automation.

Required Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of design process, document security & management using electronic document management systems like Share point, ProjectWise, Team binder, ACC and other BIM platforms.
  • Evidence of involvement & key role in any major project and complex design.
  • Evidence of producing Risk assessment or technical analysis reports or case study.
  • Expertise in use of industry relevant design tools like, CAD, Revit, MicroStation, AECOSIM, OBD, Bluebeam etc.
  • Experience in Design software like IES, Design builder, HAP, HEVACOMP etc.
  • Experience in CFD analysis and related software.
  • Excellent verbal communication as well as writing skill.
