For engineers, very few industries can match Nuclear Power for its ability to offer dynamic technical challenges with long-term job security. This is especially true for the Nuclear Safety Analysis (NSA) team which leads Dominion Energy success in performing full-scope in-house safety analyses in support of safe operation of its pressurized water reactors (PWRs).
NSA is actively seeking to hire a new “Engineer”. The single opening will be filled as an Associate Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer or Staff Engineer commensurate with the selected candidate’s education, knowledge and work experience.
Dominion Energy’s Nuclear Analysis and Fuel and Regulatory Assurance department has long-term engineering needs in Nuclear Safety Analysis (NSA) to promote continued reliable and cost-effective power production through the year 2060. NSA’s scope includes a range of safety analysis to include reactor system transient analyses, containment response analyses, vendor Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) analyses, fuel reload analyses, radiological consequences analyses, emergency procedure setpoints, evaluations of as-found plant conditions, emergency response organization support, and 10 CFR 50.59 screens and evaluations for changes to the plant, safety analyses, and station procedures.

Preferred Candidates will possess Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Note: Dominion Energy minimum experience and education requirements may exceed stated ANSI standards and candidates must meet the Dominion Energy minimum requirements.
For Nuclear employees, this ANSI standard must be met, all of which is met or exceeded in the Engineer series job summaries with the exception of the Nuclear Power experience requirement of at least 1 year:
ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.6.1 Education requirements: Baccalaureate or associate degree in engineering or related science. Minimum experience for the position: Related experience which shall include 2 years; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 year.
