Parametric is part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, the asset management division of Morgan Stanley. We partner with advisors, institutions, and consultants to build portfolios focused on what's important to them and their clients. This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Core Operations Platform is designed to build, integrate, and support a unified technology ecosystem that enables efficient, scalable, and controlled execution of Client and Market Operations processes.
It serves as the central backbone for operational workflows, consolidating fragmented systems into a single, orchestrated platform that improves data integrity, reduces manual effort, and enhances operational transparency. This aligns with the broader vision of moving from multi-system, manual processes to a unified, workflow-driven model

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Software Engineer on the Core Operations Platform team will contribute to the design, development, and integration of technology solutions to support all aspects of our equity investments platform.
In this role, the Associate Software Engineer will leverage new and existing technologies to build and maintain services that scale the platform, including on-prem systems and cloud native AWS micro services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Contribute to the design and development of proprietary solutions for the Core Platform Operations team.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of services and API's to support various business needs.
  • Apply scalable and distributed computing principles while building and enhancing services.
  • Ensure software solutions remain integrated, efficient, and appropriate for a highly regulated industry.
  • Create unit, integration and functional tests to support high-quality software delivery
  • Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality
  • Share knowledge, ideas and learnings with the team to support continuous improvement

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
SKILL SET
Required Experience: 0-3 years

PRIMARY SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study
  • Strong aptitude for highly efficient data structures and algorithms
  • Hands-on object-oriented design and development experience
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and grow, coupled with high integrity and a collaborative approach
  • Interest in AI and related technologies, with a willingness to learn how to apply them in a business or technical context
  • Effective communication skills with business users and other developers

Good to Have Skills

  • - Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • - Cloud native development experience is a plus: AWS is preferred
  • - Knowledge of NoSQL database engines such as DynamoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or MongoDB
  • - Exposure to frontend technologies, such as, ReactJS or AngularJS is a plus.
