Associate Software Engineer

We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our Universal Asset Insights team, located in Burnaby, BC, reporting to the Manager of Engineering. In this role, you will contribute to Infoblox Universal Asset Insights, which automates the discovery and analysis of both IP-based and non-IP-based assets across public clouds, on-premises networks, IoT/OT devices, and third-party applications. Integrated with Infoblox's critical network services, including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM, it enhances network visibility and IPAM accuracy. You will work closely with Product Management and engineering leadership to execute the product roadmap and engineering goals of building scalable, reliable, and maintainable software.

Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the development of cloud-hosted data ingestion, transformation, and normalization pipelines built to scale, perform, and remain reliable
• Contribute to building extensible frameworks that enable low-code/no-code integrations, allowing customers and partners to build new asset sources
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global engineering teams to build reusable software components that can be delivered as a platform
• Support productivity and innovation through the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic approaches across the software development lifecycle, including design, development, quality assurance, automation, deployment, observability, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Contribute to product innovation through the adoption of agentic infrastructure into product capabilities, including agents, sub-agents, tool integrations, and reusable skills
• Contribute to product architecture and software design discussions, helping ensure the delivery of scalable, extensible, and reliable systems
• Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing on roadmap, documentation, and other collateral
• Stay up to date on key trends in asset insights, no-code/low-code approaches for remediation, data transformation, ETL, agentic AI, and related areas

Be Prepared — What You Bring

• Experience developing software using modern programming languages and engineering practices, including service-oriented architectures, containerized deployment environments, and event-driven or asynchronous processing
• Experience building or contributing to cloud-hosted software, SaaS products, data ingestion and transformation workflows, asset management systems, or other data-intensive applications
• Working knowledge of data modeling, APIs, system architecture, and software design
• Familiarity with relational, time-series, NoSQL, or graph-oriented data stores
• Experience contributing to performance improvements, troubleshooting production issues, or improving the reliability of software systems
• Strong interest in learning new technical domains, including networking concepts such as switching, routing, security, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM. Networking experience is not required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different time zones
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; a master's degree is preferred
• Preferred qualifications
• Hands-on experience applying AI or agentic engineering approaches to improve software development, automation, performance, reliability, or product capabilities

Be Successful — Your Path

First 90 Days: Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), map the systems, and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short- and long-term goals.

Six Months: Develop a strong understanding of the Infoblox Asset Insights product offering. Design and develop assigned features with appropriate guidance, contribute to code and design reviews, and identify productivity and extensibility enhancements for integrations and adapters.

One Year: Deliver meaningful features toward extensibility to rapidly onboard integrations, make contributions toward architecture and design improvements, improve productivity, quality, and reliability, and collaborate closely with Product Management to identify areas for research and development.
